Greetings BALA family,

I am excited about the 2022-2023 school year. The school site team is looking forward to working with our young men in their pursuit of academic achievement and social emotional growth. This year the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) will implement our strategic plan that will lead our students into 2026. In the words of our Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho,

“Our Strategic Plan is designed to leverage the important work the District has been leading and build upon that and innovative ways so we may be even more responsive to the needs of our students and school community.”

This is a statement that says we are committed to focusing on and strengthening our current best practices while remaining progressive and adaptable to implement new strategies to support student success. I encourage you to view the “Ready for the World” LAUSD  2022-2026 Strategic Plan which is posted on our school and the LAUSD websites.

I am determined to provide a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment that fosters academic excellence, leadership, and life-long learning. We will offer a comprehensive curriculum that will ensure our students are college ready, career prepared and ready for leadership roles in every field of human endeavor. It is the expectation that all our young men will thrive at BALA.

I am reminded that we cannot achieve this objective without the collaboration and support of all stakeholders. We anticipate and look forward to your input on this road to student success. I am committed to providing you with a variety of ways for you to submit your thoughts on any aspect related to our shared learning community.

Once again, I am excited about the 2022-2023 school year. I look forward to our collective efforts to train our young men for leadership and to be excellent and achieve.
